What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. We can sometimes accommodate early check-in or late check-out by arrangement – please contact us to discuss your requirements.
How many guests can each pod accommodate?
Each pod can sleep up to 4 guests. There is one king-size bed and a sofa bed that can accommodate 2 additional guests. The pods are perfect for couples or small families.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes! Two of our pods Sunbiggin and Gamelands allow dogs, but please select the option when booking. Please note dogs must be kept on a lead and all dog waste must be picked up.
Is the site suitable for children?
Yes! Families are very welcome at Tarn Sike. Please note that the lake and river are unfenced, so children must be supervised at all times. The woodland setting is perfect for exploration and adventure.
What facilities are included in each pod?
Each pod includes:

Do I need to bring towels and bedding?
No, all bedding and towels are provided. We supply luxury bed linen, bath towels, and hand towels. You're welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
Is there WiFi available?
Yes, WiFi is available in all pods. However, we encourage you to disconnect and enjoy the natural surroundings!
Are there washing facilities?
Yes! We have a communal drying room with a washing machine and heated drying facilities. This is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who need to wash and dry gear after a day hiking in the Dales or if you get caught in the rain.
Where is the nearest shop?
The village of Orton is approximately 2.5 miles away and has a village shop, pub, café, and the wonderful Kennedys Chocolate Shop. The famous Tebay Services with their farm shop is about a 10 minute' drive.

Can I swim in the lake?
Yes!. The lake is around 6ft at its deepest and we regularly test the water to ensure it meets outdoor bathing standards. More information can be found here Wild Swimming
Is there parking available?
Yes, there is dedicated parking for each pod within easy 2 minute walking distance of the pods. We provide luggage trolleys to make it easy to take your belongings to and from the pod.

Is there electric vehicle charging available
Yes, we have four electric charging points at the car park which can provide up to 22KW charging depending on the number of cars charging at the same time. (minimum 7KW), if you require fast charging Tebay Services has ultra fast chargers. Please note there is an additional charge for the use of our EV chargers.
Is there mobile phone reception?
4G and sometimes 5G is available depending on your network provider although the signal various around the site. WiFi is available in all pods for staying connected if needed.
Can I have a campfire?
Each pod has a private outdoor area with a firepit. We ask guests to take extreme care when using the firepit and only burn wood supplied by Tarn Sike. No campfires are permitted anywhere else on the site.
